Sudhakar Solomonraj

Sudhakar Solomonraj is a professor of Political Science at Wilson College, Mumbai. He dons several hats, that of a nature conservationist, environmental health advocate, and nature conservation educator since 1983. He represented Western Region as part of the Indian team at the Silver Jubilee celebrations of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) International at Asissi, Italy. He is also one of the founding members and currently, staff advisor to the Wilson College Nature Club. For the last four decades, he has organised nature camps across the country in an effort to make the Nature Club members fall in love with and protect India’s wilderness. He has been associated with the Silent Valley Movement and the Narmada Bachao Andolan. Sanctuary Asia awarded him the ‘Green Teacher’ award in 2010.

Bittu Sahgal

Bittu Sahgal is an environmental activist, writer, and the founder of Sanctuary Nature Foundation, an Indian nonprofit conservation organization that works on environmental policy, advocacy, science, on-ground support and habitat management. He is also the founding editor of Sanctuary Asia, a wildlife and ecology magazine.
