If there is one soaring, defining moment of Indian cricket, it is Mohinder Amarnath taking the final wicket that crowned us World Champions in the historic 1983 match. That dramatic image captures the essence of his game. His dominance in a World Cup where he was named Man of the Series. His mastery over the West Indians. And his never say die attitude.
Though born into cricketing royalty (he is the son of the great Lala Amarnath, India’s first ever centurion) Mohinder 'Jimmy' Amarnath always forged his own path. He was redoubtably honest, and in and out of the India team for over a decade, despite at one point being considered the best batsman in the world.
As he releases his memoir, hear forthright and entertaining accounts from this outstanding cricketing legend. From hooking Michael Holding for six, to being out for 'handling the ball', to his famous run-ins with the selectors. What is certain is that whatever questions Hrishi K bowls, Mohinder Amarnath is not going to duck!
