Arvind Krishna Mehrotra is one of India’s most internationally renowned poets and translators. He is fluent in several languages including English, Hindi, Bengali and the ancient Indian language Prakrit. He has written six influential books of poetry and edited several anthologies. Among his best known works are his translations 'Songs of Kabir' and 'The Absent Traveller', love poems in the ancient language of Prakrit. His latest publications are the evocative ‘Book of Rahim & Other Poems’ , ‘Ghalib, A Diary’, and ‘Book of Lahore’ as well as ‘Treasurer of Piggy Banks’ which is a translation from Hindi into English of a poetry volume by Vinod Kumar Shukla. Arvind Krishna Mehrotra is this year’s Godrej Poet Laureate of Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest.
