Meera Sitaraman holds a double Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University and
in Medical Anthropology from Durham University, UK. She has been working with Theatre Nisha for over 15 years as an actor, designer, playwright, stage manager and director. She has acted in over 40 plays, and participated in more than 15 international and national theatre festivals. She also works as a theatre educator in inclusive schools. Her script ‘The Cut' was a finalist at The Hindu Playwright Award, 2016. In 2022, she won the Kali International Solo Award for 'Will Ammu Stop Crying?', organised by Kali Theatre, London. She is one of 4 recipients of the Inlaks Theatre Award for 2024
