Mustansir Dalvi was the longest serving Professor of Architecture in the University of Mumbai. He is the author of several well received books on architecture. He is also a poet and translator. He has three books of poems — Brouhahas of Cocks Cosmopolitician and WALK. He is widely anthologised, and his poems have been translated into French, Croatian, Gujarati, Marathi and Hindi. He is himself a prize winning translator from Urdu to English and has translated Marathi poems as well. His translations of the poems of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, are widely quoted and have been the subject of academic research.
