Pratibha Ray is a renowned writer of fiction. She has received the top Indian honours of Padmashree and Padma Bhushan, and highest literary awards - Sahitya Akademi and Bharatiya Jnanapith, among very many others. She has written 23 novels 26 short story collections, 12 travelogues, 2 poetry collections, 5 essay collections, an autobiography, and a book on Five Primitive tribes of Odisha. Her works have been translated into English and other Indian Languages.
