Veronika Dintinjana is a poet, translator, and practising surgeon. Her first book, 'Rumeno Gori Grm Forzicija' ('Yellow Burns the Forsythia Bush'), won the Slovenian Book Fair award for Best First Book. Her best selling second book, 'V Suhem Doku' ('In Dry Dock') received the Slovenian Writers' Association award for best poetry published in previous two years. As a translator, her main interest is contemporary North American and Irish poetry; her published translations include the works of Louise Glück, Muriel Rukeyser, Denise Levertov, Ciaran O'Driscoll, Ursula K. Le Guin, Seamus Heaney, and Pablo Neruda.
