Veronika Dintinjana is a poet, translator, and surgeon. Her first book, Rumeno Gori Grm Forzicija (Yellow Burns the Forsythia Bush), won the Slovenian Book Fair award for Best First Book. Her best selling second book, V Suhem Doku (In Dry Dock) received the Slovenian Writers' Association award for best poetry published in previous two years. As a translator, her main interest is contemporary North American and Irish poetry; her published translations include the works of Louise Glück, Muriel Rukeyser, Denise Levertov, Ciaran O'Driscoll, Ursula K. Le Guin, Seamus Heaney, and Pablo Neruda.
